Moritz Fr50 mini felling tractor

Moritz Fr50 mini felling tractor

Pfanzelt introduced the Moritz mini felling tractor in 2016. The new concept was innovative and pioneering. Building on the success of the Fr50, Pfanzelt introduced the second, enhanced series in 2020. The Fr50 model has therefore been discontinued in this form since the Fr70 and Fr75 models were introduced in the summer of 2020. However, development has continued…

Multipurpose unit

In addition to a permanently installed cable winch Moritz boasts so many more functions to make it suitable for use as an off-road carrier vehicle. The cable winch, installed using a quick-change system, can be removed in only a few steps. You can then mount tools to the vehicle using the three-point mount (cat. 1).

Jungbestandspflege

Manual young plantation care or forest management with a brush cutter (trimmer) is cost and labour intensive. Large storms in recent years, bark beetles and forest fires mean that many areas have been replanted, leading to an increased volume of maintenance work. Forest maintenance is one of the most important areas of forestry. Young plantation care with the Pfanzelt milling machine, which is available for the Moritz Fr50 tracked minitractor, is efficient and high performance.

More details on Moritz mini tractor

Running gear

The chassis width of the Moritz Fr50 can be adjusted to achieve the optimum width for both transport and for off-road operations. The chassis can be hydraulically widened by 400mm. This means that the mini felling tractor can also be safely operated on slopes. The wide chassis and the low dead weight of the caterpillar create a low ground pressure of only 0.30 kg / cm². Even on wet ground, it is thus possible to work and drive without causing damage to the soil. With the front and rear climbing angle of 45°, the mini felling tractor can easily make the transition from forest tracks into the standing timber. The large ground clearance of 300 mm allows the tractor to easily pick its way over roots and stumps and to manoeuvre on forwarding trails.

Transport

The machine’s compact dimensions and relatively low weight facilitate uncomplicated transport by semi trailer or flat bed truck.

Traction drive

For accessing the felling zone or log forwarding, the proportional drive supports two speeds. The maximum speed of the mini felling tractor is 6.5 km/h.

Secure footing

The stacking shield is the basis for all winching work. This is equipped with double-action hydraulic cylinders. If the weight of the caterpillar is not sufficient for winch work, it can be additionally secured to another object (for example a tree) within a very short time.

The cable infeed height of the mini felling tractor is adjusted. So the height of the cable infeed can be adjusted when in use, this is integrated in the height-adjustable stacking shield.

Wireless control

The entire mini felling tractor can be controlled via an ergonomic remote control. Besides traction drive and winch drive, this also allows adjustment of the cable speed or the engine speed. If the vehicle is not needed for a short time, the engine can also be stopped or started via the remote control.

Attachable implements

Powerful winches

The professional, geared cable winch generates a maximum tractive force of 4 or 5 metric tons and features a cable length of 110 m. Variable cable speed in several stages allows adjustment to different work situations. For tidy cable winding, this can be equipped with a cable infeed brake.

1). A versatile, mechanical PTO is available for tools. The minitractor can also be equipped with hydraulic control units. Consequently different tools meeting different technical requirements can be attached and operated.

Pfanzelt provides a host of different attachments that have been specifically developed for and adapted to the Moritz. These include a mulcher with hydraulic flap, a forestry mulcher with fixed tools, a stump mulcher and a sowing strip mulcher.

Sä milling combination
The new Sä milling combination has been developed in close collaboration with the Federal Forestry Authority of Brandenburg who had already been using it for several months in trials. As part of this process, the milling wheel produces cuts in the forest ground measuring between six and eight cm in depth and cuts fallen branches or small roots with the aim of a particularly good sowing results. The vehicle features different sowing chambers and separate systems for seeding so that both small and large seeds can be processed. A transparent, electronic operating unit enables detailed adjustment of the sowing unit.

Forestry mulcher with hydraulic rear flap and Abrasive forestry tool with hydraulic rear flap
In conjunction with the new forestry mulcher the Moritz has been ideally adapted to different deployment situations to guarantee sustainable application that protects resources. Creating firebreaks also forms part of forestry tasks as does maintaining forests, younger trees and infrastructure plots. The tool can shred shrubbery and undergrowth up to a maximum diameter of 20 cm. Deployments in an agricultural context and to maintain orchards and vineyards are also possible. Moritz is the ideal tracked minitractor for forestry mulching in areas that are difficult to access. The applied hardened metal tools guarantee minimum wear and high levels of efficiency.

Accessories for professionals

The comprehensive range of accessories provides the right equipment for Moritz in any deployment conditions.

An extending, three-part front weight with 110 kg is available for temporary stacking on inclines or to handle cables. Depending on the demands, the vehicle can be equipped with up to three dual-action, hydraulic control units.

Stowage space

In here chain saws, fuel canisters and lashing straps can be neatly stowed away in a large stowage compartment in the chassis.

The optionally available, folding front box provides even more stowage space.
